GOOD NEWS FOR THE MSC FAMILY!

Today, 24 October 2026, Pope Leo XIV authorised the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints to promulgate the decree recognising the heroic virtues of Friedrich Kaiser Depel, MSC (1903–1993), who is now recognised as Venerable.

Born in Germany, Fr Kaiser served as a missionary in Peru, becoming the first Prelate of Caravelí and founding the Missionary Sisters of Jesus, Word and Victim. Although his cause is not entrusted to the MSC General Postulation, but is promoted by the Congregation he founded, he remained deeply attached to his identity as a Missionary of the Sacred Heart throughout his life. He also passed on to his Sisters a special devotion to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.

This is a moment of great joy and gratitude for our MSC family. May his missionary witness continue to inspire us to make the love of the Heart of Jesus known and loved everywhere.

Fr Fernando Clemente, MSC
General Postulator
