MSC General Conference 2025. 3rd Day

Today, September 17, 2025, has been fully dedicated to Safeguarding led by Tina Campbell, the Safeguarding Consultant for the Congregation and Coordinator of the Safeguarding Commission. The session began with raising awareness regarding the implementation of the Congregational Policy within each entity, through adaptation to culture and context, including civil law. Information regarding Safeguarding Audit systems were also presented. Bram Tulusan MSC, a member of the Safeguarding Commission, presented with clarity the role of the Safeguarding Delegate and purpose of the Safeguarding Team or Committee in each entity. After lunch, Tina gave a presentation on Artificial Intelligenceand further training regarding online abuse in the context of protecting vulnerable children and adults. To conclude, Tina shared some of the emerging issues for relgious in relation to safeguarding which she experiences with some of the international congregations with whom she works. This was followed by group discussions on emerging issues and prototypying exercises to consider actions for communities or entities. Today’s Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Mesias Neyra MSC from the Andean Union.
