\nSEEING is the first level of awareness. Some individuals are physiologically or literally blind, similar to Bartimaeus in the Gospel stories (Luke 18 and Mark 10). We sympathise with Bartimaeus\u2019 condition, as he is unable to perceive the true state of society. However, others experience spiritual blindness\u2014though they have no physical impairment, their prejudices and biases prevent them from recognising the injustices around them. Spiritual blindness leaves individuals undisturbed, preserves the status quo, and keeps them detached from the flight of those who are least, lost, and the last.<\/p>\n

\nb) The lens also represents the spirituality and charism of our Founder, Fr. Jules Chevalier, who lived out his mission with deep conviction. His mysticism teaches us that the Sacred Heart of Jesus is the remedy for all the ills of our time. As we continually proclaim, \u201cMay the Sacred Heart of Jesus be everywhere loved.\u201d
